One box, three heights – flipped instead of stacked
You do not need three boxes to get kids into proper jump training. This one gives you 35, 40 and 50 cm – tip it onto another side and the new height is set. Every side carries its height printed on it (14, 16 and 20 inch), so nobody has to measure or guess. What the vaulting box is in school sport, the plyo box is in functional training – just more compact, and here with three heights instead of one. In a kids class that means: no stacking, no searching, every kid stands at their own height.
Plyo training in short: up, down, as little ground contact as possible. That needs a box that does not work along with you but stands still. Plywood does not give way on take-off – the energy goes into the jump, not into the material. And because the three heights sit below what is usual in adult training, kids and teenagers learn the technique at a height they can actually handle. Box jumps, step-ups, alternating jumps, burpees or single-leg squats – the box takes it all.
Which height for which level
The three heights are not random, they are a progression. Start low and only move up when the landing is clean – not when ambition pushes.
| Side / height | Printed mark | What it is good for |
|---|---|---|
| 35 cm | 14 inch | Getting started, step-ups, first jumps – also for returners and seniors |
| 40 cm | 16 inch | Box jumps once the landing is clean – the working height for most kids |
| 50 cm | 20 inch | Bigger teenagers, the step across to the adult box |
Wood or soft – the honest call
Both kids boxes can do the same things, they just forgive different amounts. Wood stands firm, gives nothing back on take-off and handles daily use in a club or a kids class. The catch: when a jump goes wrong, the shin feels the edge. Foam forgives exactly that moment, but is softer on take-off in return.
Our recommendation without detours: if your kids still jump unsure and land on the edge now and then, take the soft version. If they already come up cleanly and the box runs in club training every day, wood is the box that serves you longer. The wood stays natural, the only thing on it is the cross equip print. You carry it by the hand holes in the side walls – the kids can do that themselves when the class tidies up.

Wooden plyo box vs. soft plyo box
| Criterion | 3in1 Wooden Plyo Box for Kids | 3in1 Soft Plyo Box for Kids |
|---|---|---|
| Material | Plywood | Foam |
| Training heights | 35 / 40 / 50 cm | 35 / 40 / 50 cm |
| Footprint | 50 × 40 cm | 50 × 40 cm |
| Height change | Flip the box | Flip the box |
| Take-off | Firm, does not give way | Softer, foam gives way |
| Missed jump | You feel the edge | Foam forgives |
| Suits | Club and box use, confident jumpers | First jumps, unsure landings |
If your kids already jump cleanly and the box runs in club or box training, take the wooden one – it stands firm and gives nothing back on take-off. If landings are still unsure, the soft version is the better pick. Heights and footprint are identical on both.

Customer reviews
When our first kids classes started, we let them jump on the adult boxes. Wrong call – for a kid that is not a jump, it is a test of courage. With the smaller heights they learn the technique first and end up jumping higher anyway. The wooden box is the one that runs all day in our club sessions, because it simply stands there and never argues.
