What is special about plyometrics training?
The so-called plyo training is based on the stretch-shortening cycle, which divides each movement into a concentric phase, an eccentric phase and an amortization phase (break) at the apex. Plyo training is about performing all exercises with minimal ground contact as dynamically as possible and thus keeping the amortization phase as short as possible.
As a result, part of the energy of the eccentric movement phase is stored as tension in the muscles and released again during the contraction phase.
