Formerly a real insider's tip among professionals, the trap bar is now a popular fixture in many CrossFit boxes and fitness studios. For good reason, because the special bar, also known as a hex barbell, not only brings variety and new stimuli into your daily training routine, but also ensures a more favourable load distribution during training thanks to its construction. This makes trap bars compulsory equipment in gyms and boxes.
Unlike our other model, the Standard Trap Bar, the Heavy Duy Trap Bar is open on one side. Together with the larger empty space in the middle, the bar offers more space and safety for the legs and heels.Solid, ergonomic, resilient
The special feature of the Trap Bar is its generous hexagonal shape, with the athlete positioned inside the hexagon. The plates lie to the left and right of the body as usual. Unlike the classic barbell bar, the special shape shifts the axial load distribution.
While the centre of gravity of a classic barbell is either in front of or behind the spine, depending on the exercise, it is in the centre when training with the Trap Bar. This has several advantages:
- More even load on the spine, muscles and joints
- New, unusual training stimuli for more strength and muscle growth
- Trap bars can be used flexibly for different exercises
