Description
The rest every set begins on
J-Hooks – known in the scene as J cups – are the point where every lift starts and ends. You rack out, you rack in, a hundred times a day in a busy box. Sitting in the cradle is a plastic rest: your barbell lands on plastic instead of bare steel. The knurling stays intact, and racking the bar sounds a lot less like a workshop.
Height comes from the row of holes in the upright, in a 5 cm pattern – low for squats, higher for bench and overhead press. Slot the hook in, the horizontal pin at the top secures it, carry on. That is something you do between two sets, without hunting for tools first.
Standard or Professional – the difference sits on the upright
Both versions do the same job, they just sit differently. The Standard rests flat against one face of the upright with a continuous 220 mm back plate. The Professional instead has a bracket that wraps around the post, so it bears on several faces rather than just the front one. On top of that, the Professional gets a heavier plastic rest that is bolted on rather than dropped in. On paper both are far beyond anything that ends up on the bar – the Professional simply spreads the load over more surface.
They are built for our A-Line: 75 x 75 mm profile, 17 mm holes, 5 cm spacing – Squat Stands, Power Racks and Rigs from the series. They do not go on the Swiss Line upright with its 80 x 80 mm – for that you need the Swiss Line J-Hooks. Black powder-coated steel, and every variant ships as two pieces.

For most setups the Standard is enough: flat back plate, plastic rest, moved without tools. Take the Professional when a station runs all day and you want the wrap-around bracket plus the bolted-on rest. If you often line up loaded barbells sideways, have a look at the Roller J-Hooks.

Customer reviews
Most stations in our box run the Standard J-Hooks, and they have done their job for years without any drama. The Professional ones are on the stations where somebody is racking in and out from morning to night. What you actually notice day to day is the plastic rest – our bars still look decent after all this time.
