Description

Vertical post for rigs, racks and wallmount setups

The upright beam is the vertical backbone of our A-Line series. Every freestanding rig, wallmount rack and squat stand in our system is built on these posts. This is where J-hooks, safety arms, pull-up bars, dip attachments, plate storage and multi-grip bars mount. You choose between four lengths – 220, 240, 275 or 365 cm – matched to your ceiling height and training goal. 220 and 240 cm fit standard Swiss ceilings (basement, garage, ground floor). 275 cm leaves room for pull-ups and muscle-ups in higher rooms. 365 cm is the post for rope climbs, high halls and Box setups with ceiling-free training space.

A-Line spec: 3 mm steel, 75 × 75 mm profile, laser hole pattern

The upright beam has 3 mm steel wall thickness and a 75 × 75 mm square profile – the A-Line spec, identical across all our racks and rigs. The hole pattern runs at 17 mm hole diameter and 5 cm spacing top to bottom. Laser-engraved height markers help you set J-hooks and safety arms level in seconds – no measuring, no counting. Each beam ships with a pre-welded floor plate for anchoring. Black powder-coated, identical to the entire A-Line family.

Upright Beam – which length fits your setup?

Variant Length / Net weight Recommended ceiling Best for
R-UP-220 220 cm / 18 kg from 230 cm Basement, garage, compact wallmount or squat stand
R-UP-240 240 cm / 20 kg from 250 cm Standard home gym with normal ceiling height
R-UP-275 275 cm / 22 kg from 285 cm Freestanding rig, pull-ups and muscle-ups at full ROM
R-UP-365 365 cm / 30 kg from 375 cm Rope climb, high hall, Box setup with high ceiling

Choose the length by your ceiling height and use case. Standard Swiss ceilings (240–260 cm): 220 or 240 cm. Pull-ups with full overhead ROM: 275 cm. Rope climbs or Box hall: 365 cm. In a wallmount setup with rope climb you can also combine different lengths – shorter beams in the back, longer in the front.

Frequently Asked Questions

How many upright beams do I need for my setup?
Depends on the setup. Wallmount rig: minimum 2. Freestanding squat rack: 4. Larger rig with multiple stations: more (6, 8 or 12). If you're not sure, send us your room dimensions and training goal – we'll help plan.
Which length fits my ceiling?
Rule of thumb: beam length plus at least 10 cm headroom. 220 cm beam needs 230 cm ceiling, 240 cm beam needs 250 cm, 275 cm beam needs 285 cm, 365 cm beam needs 375 cm. For pull-ups or muscle-ups go generous – so you can lock out over the bar.
What do the laser-engraved height markers mean?
Every hole position is laser-engraved with a number. That lets you set J-hooks, safety arms or pull-up bars on both beams to exactly the same height in seconds – no measuring, no counting.
Can I combine different lengths?
Yes. In wallmount setups with rope climb you can run the front beams shorter and the back beams longer (or vice versa). In freestanding rigs in one room you usually go with uniform lengths so horizontal junction bars sit clean.
What else do I need for a freestanding rig?
At least 4 upright beams, junction bars for horizontal connections, extended feet for the footprint. Plus J-hooks, safety arms and pull-up bar by training goal. For Box configurations or club setups we'll happily put together a complete spec.
How are the beams anchored to the floor?
Each beam has a pre-welded floor plate with holes. You anchor it with heavy-duty anchors in concrete or with screws in a wood construction. **Anchors and screws are not included** – the choice depends on the substrate. On freestanding rigs with extended feet, the net weight plus weights on the feet keep the setup grounded.
Are the beams compatible with other A-Line components?
Yes. Identical profile dimensions (75 × 75 mm), 17 mm holes, 5 cm spacing. All A-Line attachments – J-hooks, safety arms, pull-up bars, dip arms, plate storage – fit directly.

Customer reviews

The upright beams are the first thing we mounted in our Box, over 12 years ago. They're still standing – no wear marks. If you're planning your own rig or a wallmount setup, this is where everything starts. Pick the right length for your room and build modular. Over the years pull-up bar, safety arms, storage follow – the system carries it all.
