Description

Rotation work your shoulders will thank you for

The HG Chrome Clubbell is a steel club built for everything that involves swing, rotation and grip. Mills, shield casts, two-handed swings or barbarian squats – these movements build stability in your shoulders, core, elbows and wrists that you simply won't get from classic barbell lifts. Every rotation forces your core to resist – anti-rotation and oblique work comes along for free. For us, the clubbell is solid accessory work: after the WOD, as a warm-up before overhead days, or for pure grip and mobility training.

Cleanly built, just gets on with it

The chrome finish is smooth, rust-resistant and stays secure in your hand even after a hard set. You can use it with chalk – wipe it down afterwards, done. No oil, no care routine, no hassle. With seven weight options you find the right club for your starting point and grow into heavier loads – from a 4 kg shoulder warm-up to heavy 20 kg swings.

Frequently Asked Questions

Who is the clubbell for?
For CrossFitters and olympic lifters who want to prep their shoulders for overhead positions (snatch, jerk, handstand) or mobilise after sessions. For coaches building athletes up for overhead work. For combat athletes and climbers who need rotational strength and grip. For physios as a prehab and rehab tool after shoulder issues. It doesn't replace kettlebell or barbell – it complements them, for shoulder health and rotational athleticism.
Which weight should I start with?
Start lighter than you think – that's how you learn the movement cleanly. Women usually start at 4 kg, men at 6 or 8 kg. That's enough to drill mills and shield casts under control. After two to four weeks you'll know if you're ready to step up.
Clubbell vs kettlebell – what's the difference?
The kettlebell trains mostly vertical patterns (swings, cleans, snatches). The clubbell, thanks to its length, moves into rotation – you train patterns a kettlebell can't cover. The two complement each other really well.
Is a clubbell the same as an Indian club or a steel mace?
Not quite. Indian clubs are usually lighter (typically 0.5 to 2 kg) and primarily built for mobility work. A steel mace has the weight at the top end of a long handle – different mechanics. The clubbell sits in between: heavy enough for strength work, compact enough for clean rotation.
Which exercises can I do with it?
Mills, shield casts, swipes, two-handed swings, barbarian squats, gama casts. A handful of basics is enough to open up your shoulders and challenge your grip.
Does the clubbell fit in a basement or home gym?
Yes. You need some open space around you for mills and swings – roughly 2 m of radius. Ceiling height is less critical than with kettlebell snatches, because most movements run lateral and diagonal rather than straight overhead.

Customer reviews

We've had clubbells in the box for years as a mobility and accessory tool. What most people underestimate: a few sets of mills or shield casts per week do more for healthy shoulders than any prehab routine. And your grip gets stronger along the way.
