One day, Cynthia attended a fitness training session at the gym where she participated in a CrossFit demonstration. From that moment on, she was hooked on the sport.
Andrea had been training at the gym for a long time and was somewhat familiar with CrossFit through social media and videos. He remembers looking for a CrossFit gym near him, and one day he joined one nearby.
The reason Cynthia and Andrea wanted to open a box was their passion for the sport.
They wanted to be able to share their passion and vision with others.
Community is important
They opened CrossFit Overlake on June 16, 2018.
After opening, they didn't have to do much advertising and already had their first members.
Word spread quickly and the initial rush was quite significant. It then leveled off a bit but picked up again by the end of the year.
They started attracting people from other CrossFit boxes as well as new people who were not yet familiar with CrossFit. That was really cool for them. The most important thing is to create a good community. There are two other CrossFit boxes near them, and the community is what will set them apart.
Their goal is to create the best community where people want to be and stay.
They want to convey their passion, what they love to do, and they want people to have fun with them.
What many people need
Many people don't move enough during the day. It is a priority for them
to get people moving and moving correctly. Cynthia and Andrea also enjoy challenges and competitions and try to instill this in their members.
People need to come to CrossFit Overlake to simply have fun. Cynthia and Andrea get them moving and keep them engaged. If someone comes with problems, they listen.
They want people to appreciate the moments they get here. If you love the place you train and if you enjoy being there, then you'll want to stay.
