Description

Your floor for heavy drops and happy neighbours

When the barbell hits the floor regularly, you need flooring that takes it – and doesn't drive your neighbours mad. The ECO HEAVY 40 Tile is our thickest floor mat, built specifically for drop zones. At 40 mm thick it absorbs the impact of heavy cleans, snatches and deadlift drops. That protects your subfloor and noticeably reduces footfall noise. Ideal for boxes in apartment blocks or commercial buildings with offices below.

Tough, heavy and low-maintenance

The high-density SBR rubber granulate makes the mat extremely durable in continuous use. At 32 kg per tile it stays put even without gluing – you can reposition or extend it anytime. The dense surface is non-slip and easy to clean: vacuum and wipe down, done. If you need even more damping, combine the mats with our Shock Absorb underlays.

The ECO HEAVY 40 is the right choice when you're setting up a drop zone or training in an acoustically sensitive building. For general training areas without heavy drops, a thinner option like the ECO PRO 25 is often enough.

Frequently Asked Questions

Do I still need an extra damping layer at 40 mm?
For most uses, no. But if you're in a particularly noise-sensitive building or drop extreme loads, you can place a Shock Absorb underlay (25, 50 or 75 mm) beneath it.
Do I have to glue the mats down?
No. At 32 kg per tile they stay put through their own weight. Gluing is only needed at edges or for special requirements.
Can I cut the mats myself?
At 40 mm a utility knife isn't enough. Use a jigsaw or a circular saw with a guide rail for a clean cut.
How do I lay several tiles side by side?
The ECO HEAVY 40 doesn't connect to other tiles – only the HG plates have an interlock system. The tiles are laid butt to butt; their high weight (32 kg) keeps them from shifting in everyday use.
How do I clean the mats?
Vacuum regularly and wipe down when needed. For a deep clean we recommend a scrubber-dryer with a soft brush.
Are the mats suitable for a home gym too?
Absolutely. Especially if you train in an apartment with neighbours, the 40 mm version is the best choice for quiet and a clear conscience.

Customer reviews

We have the ECO HEAVY 40 under the platforms in our own box. Heavy cleans and snatches land on it daily – the floor underneath is still flawless after years. And the neighbours on the floor below have never complained. If you need a drop zone, that's my recommendation.
