Spring Collars are the classic among barbell collars. The principle is simple: squeeze together, slide on, release – the spring holds the plates on the bar. Our Spring Collars have comparatively long lever arms and wide grip surfaces. This makes opening easier than most other spring collars, even with training gloves or pumped forearms. For home gyms and as a backup set, they're a solid, proven solution.
Honest recommendation
Spring Collars do their job – but that's about it. Opening requires more force than Lock-Jaw collars, and during quick weight changes you lose time. For daily box operation or if you change weights frequently, we recommend our Eco Lock-Jaw or Lock-Jaw Pro. But for the home gym, as a backup set, or if you just need an affordable, working collar: Spring Collars do exactly what they're supposed to.

But honestly: Once you've used Lock-Jaw, you don't want to go back. For a home gym as a backup set or when budget matters – absolutely okay. For daily use, I'd recommend the Lock-Jaw Pro though.
