Description

Speckled looks instead of solid color

The High Grade Hi Temp Bumper Plates have a look of their own: black crumb rubber shot through with colored speckles. The lettering is cast in raised relief rather than printed – it stands proud of the rubber, so there is nothing that can flake off. You read the weight by color: 10 kg green, 15 kg yellow, 20 kg blue, 25 kg red. The 5 kg is the odd one out – white speckles, but grey lettering.

Built thicker – what that means on the sleeve

The body is made from recycled crumb rubber. A stainless steel insert sits in the 50 mm bore – it runs on any Olympic sleeve and won't rust. The outer diameter is 450 mm, same as our other bumper plates, but the plate builds thicker: 89 mm on the 20 kg against 57 mm on its colored sister. The same weight spreads across more volume. What that means for you: where three Hi Temp fit on the sleeve, so 60 kg per side, you get four of the colored plates on – 80 kg. For most sets it makes no difference. If you regularly load heavy, do the math once.

Two builds, two tools. The recycled crumb rubber makes the Hi Temp the rugged everyday plate – plus the speckled look and the raised lettering. If you need every centimeter of sleeve because you load heavy, the High Grade Color in virgin rubber fit better. Mixing works: same diameter, same bore.

Frequently Asked Questions

Do I get a single plate or a pair?
Plates are sold per piece, not in pairs. For a pair, add the same weight to your cart twice – that way you build your set exactly the way you need it.
Which color goes with which weight?
10 kg green, 15 kg yellow, 20 kg blue, 25 kg red – speckles and lettering carry the same color. The 5 kg is the exception: white speckles, grey lettering.
Will these plates fit my barbell – even mixed with others?
Yes, they fit any Olympic barbell with a 50 mm sleeve; the bore is lined with a stainless steel insert. You can mix them freely with the colored plates: same outer diameter, same bore. Only the width differs.
Can I drop these plates?
Yes, that's what bumper plates are built for – snatch, clean & jerk, heavy deadlifts. You can drop them on any floor rated for it. On a Weightlifting Platform or on dropping mats, your floor and your barbell will last longer.
How much room do they take up on the sleeve?
More than slim plates: 29 mm on the 5 kg, 89 mm on the 20 kg, 98 mm on the 25 kg. Your sleeve fills up sooner under heavy loads – measure up front how much you want to get on there.
What does recycled crumb rubber mean?
The plate body is pressed from recycled rubber rather than new stock. It's the build that has been doing the work in box settings for years – rugged, and with a look you spot straight away.

Customer reviews

If you load heavy, measure your sleeve before you order – and add up the widths. The Hi Temp builds thicker, and you only notice once things get tight on the bar. For everything below that, it's a plate you grab and then stop thinking about.
