Description

Small steps instead of coarse jumps

The High Grade Change Plates are for everyone who doesn't want to progress in 5 kg blocks. Seven increments from 0.5 to 5 kg – you add exactly what's still missing. If you're at 100 kg and want 102.5, you put a 1.25 on each side – otherwise you jump straight to 105. That's often where it's decided whether you keep moving. The colour coding follows the IWF scheme from weightlifting and shows you at a glance what's on the barbell – no searching, no guessing in the middle of a WOD.

Built for daily use

The metal core is wrapped in a heavy-duty rubber casing. It protects your barbell from scratches, dampens the noise when loading and unloading, and handles daily box use with ease. The 50 mm sleeve matches the Olympic standard and fits every Olympic barbell – CrossFit, Olympic lifting or powerlifting. We run these change plates in our own box, day in, day out. They take whatever you throw at them.

Frequently Asked Questions

Which increments do I actually need?
Depends on your jumps. If you want 2.5 kg more on the barbell, take two 1.25s. For 1 kg steps, two 0.5s. Because you order individually, you get exactly the sizes missing from your rack – not the ones you already have.
Will the change plates fit my barbell?
Yes, as long as you have an Olympic barbell. The 50 mm sleeve matches the Olympic standard and fits all common bars for CrossFit, Olympic lifting and powerlifting.
Why are the plates wrapped in rubber?
The rubber casing protects your barbell from scratches, dampens the noise when loading and unloading, and makes the plate more durable. So your gear stays good-looking longer and your bar takes less abuse.
What does the colour coding mean?
The colours follow the IWF scheme: 0.5 kg white, 1 kg green, 1.5 kg yellow, 2 kg blue, 2.5 kg red and 5 kg white. The in-between 1.25 kg is black. That way you can tell at a glance what's on the bar. Worth knowing: that's the code from weightlifting. In powerlifting the IPF code applies, with different colours – there the 2.5 kg is black and the 1.25 kg silver. Both are correct, they're two federations.
Can I combine single weights?
Yes, that's what this page is for. You order each weight separately and build the increments you're missing. If you want the whole ladder at once, the sets are the shorter route.
Do I get one plate or a pair?
One plate. If you want to load left and right the same, put the weight in the cart twice. Same for all seven increments.
Can I use the change plates on dumbbells?
No, the sleeve is 50 mm and built for Olympic barbells. They won't fit dumbbells with a thinner sleeve.

Customer reviews

I've watched athletes stick on the same number for months, because the next five kilos are simply too much. With a pair of 1.25s it keeps moving – and half a year later there's a number on the bar that looked impossible before.
