Description

The horizontal link in your rig

Planning a rig or extending a setup you already have? The Junction Bar is the bar between two Upright Beams – it turns single posts into a structure. Four lengths are on offer: 30, 60, 106 and 168 cm. Which one you need comes down to the gap you want to bridge. Measure it, and the length is settled. Wallmount or freestanding makes no difference here – the bar works in both types of rig.

A-Line profile, drilled full length, flanged at both ends

75 × 75 mm square profile, 3 mm steel wall thickness – the same spec as the Upright Beam and the rest of the A-Line series. A continuous row of holes runs the whole length in the A-Line pattern: 17 mm hole diameter, 5 cm spacing. Both ends carry a welded flange with four holes each, two at the top and two at the bottom – that is how you bolt the bar to the Upright Beam. Black powder-coated, like the entire A-Line series. Screws are not included, you order those to match your build.

With our A-Line racks the rule is: outer dimension minus 15 cm, because there is a 7.5 cm post at each end. 121 cm width gives 106 cm, 183 cm depth gives 168 cm. All four lengths share the same profile and the same hole pattern, so you can mix them in one rig. If none of the four comes out right for you, get in touch. And if 168 cm is not enough, take the Junction Bar 220 cm.

Frequently Asked Questions

Which length do I need?
You can work it out: outer dimension of your A-Line rack minus 15 cm. At each end stands a post with a 7.5 cm profile width, 15 cm together – what is left in between is the Junction Bar. In practice that means: 121 cm width on the Power Racks and the CFR-2 gives 106 cm, 75 cm depth on the CPR-100 gives 60 cm, 121 cm depth on the CPR-150 and CPR-150X likewise gives 106 cm, 183 cm depth on the freestanding CFR rigs gives 168 cm. The 30 cm is what you take for short links and bracing. On a rig that did not come from us, the maths depends on its profile width – send us a sketch with your measurements and we will look at it.
How many Junction Bars do I need for a rig?
At least two per connection – one top, one bottom. In our experience a wallmount rig with two uprights often gets by with 2 to 3 bars, while a freestanding rack needs noticeably more because both directions get connected. Draw your rig out and count the connections, then you have the quantity.
What is the difference to the Single Junction Bar?
Square against round. The Junction Bar here is the 75 × 75 mm profile and does the connecting work in the rig. The Single Junction Bar is a round bar with a 3.2 cm diameter and is mainly used for pull ups – so it is there to be gripped. Plenty of people order both together: Junction Bars for the frame, Single Junction Bar as the pull-up bar. It is currently available in 106 cm.
What else do I need besides the Junction Bars?
For a freestanding rig you need at least 4 Upright Beams plus Junction Bars and Extended Feet. On top of that the mounting hardware – with us that is the "Screws for racks and rigs (silver) - set of 4". What comes on in the way of J-Hooks, Safety Arms or a pull-up bar depends on your training goal.
How is the Junction Bar mounted and what is in the box?
The bar ships on its own. At both ends it has a welded flange with four holes – those are what you bolt it to the Upright Beam through. The screws are available separately, so you get exactly the hardware that suits your build. On the long bars a second person is a real help when lining things up.
Does the Junction Bar fit other rack systems?
It is an A-Line part and built around the A-Line profile: 75 × 75 mm, 17 mm holes, 5 cm pattern. For third-party systems we cannot promise compatibility. Send us the measurements of your existing rig and we will check it.

Junction Bars are the part you underestimate when planning and reorder twice when building. We have rebuilt our rig in the box several times over the years – the bars from back then are still in it, just in a different spot. My tip: measure your uprights, draw the rig on a sheet of paper and count the connections. Then you order once properly instead of three times short.
