Description

Pull-ups where your rig already stands

Your rig is up, the uprights are set – all that is missing is the bar to hang from. That is exactly what the Single Junction Bar is for: a round bar, 106 cm long, that you bolt between two uprights. From then on you have a pull-up bar on the rack: pull-ups, chin-ups, toes to bar, or simply hanging out after a heavy set. In a box this is the station with the highest workload, because pull-ups turn up in nearly every WOD. One point up front so you do not order the wrong thing: this is a component, not a finished pull-up bar. Without uprights it hangs nowhere – if you are after a complete setup rather than a single part, have a look at the rigs and racks.

Round steel, flat plate at both ends

The grip measures 3.2 cm in diameter. That is the thickness where your thumb still comes properly round the bar – and you notice it at the latest when your grip starts fading on the twentieth kipping pull-up. At both ends sits a welded-on flat plate with two holes each – the bolts run through those into the upright. Four bolts for the whole bar, and they are in the box. What height the bar sits at is your call during assembly. The steel is black powder-coated, like everything from the A-Line. It needs no care – wipe the chalk off, that is it. And if you rebuild your rig later, the bar simply moves with it.

Same bar, same grip, two lengths – this is decided by the tape measure, not by ambition. Measure the clear span between your uprights: if it comes to 106 cm, this is your bar. If it is 168 cm, take the Single Beam.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the difference to the Junction Bar?
Round against square – and behind that sit two different jobs. The Junction Bar is the square 75 × 75 mm profile that holds your rig together as a structure. The Single Junction Bar is round, 3.2 cm thick, and there for you to grip. Plenty of people order both in one go: the square ones for the frame, the round one for hanging.
What spacing do my uprights need?
Take the outer width of your A-Line rack and subtract 15 cm – the two posts eat up 7.5 cm of profile width each. For a 106 cm bar that means a rack with 121 cm outer width, which is the width of our Power Racks and the CFR-2. What always decides is the clear gap between your uprights, not the series: with a Swiss Line rack on an 80 x 80 mm profile you work with that profile width, with an outside rig with its own. Measure your uprights, send us the numbers – we will tell you whether 106 cm works out.
Is the Single Junction Bar available in 168 cm as well?
The Single Junction Bar itself comes in 106 cm only. For 168 cm you take the Single Beam – the same round bar with a 3.2 cm grip, simply longer. That covers a rack outer width of 183 cm instead of 121 cm.
Is 106 cm enough for a wide grip?
For one athlete, easily: wide grip, chin-ups, toes to bar – no problem at all. For two side by side it gets tight. If you need two spots, you are better off planning two rig bays with one bar each. And if you also want different grip angles, have a look at the Multi Grip Pull Up Bar.
How much does the bar take?
Kipping pull-ups, toes to bar, hanging with your full bodyweight – that is what it is built for, and it handles it. The weak link is never the bar anyway, it is the bolting: tighten the four bolts properly and check them every few months, then you will have peace for a long time.
What else do I need besides the bar?
Two uprights for it to sit on – nothing else. The four bolts, two per end plate, are included. If your rig is already standing, the bar is complete as delivered. If you are building from scratch, the Upright Beams are the starting point.

Customer reviews

Of all the parts on a rig, this bar gets touched the most – every day, by everyone who walks in. That is exactly why the diameter mattered to me: too thick, and everyone with smaller hands fights their grip on kipping pull-ups instead of the workout. My tip when planning: set it one position higher rather than too low. Anyone can jump up, nobody can duck.
