One flick open, one flick shut
With a lever closure you fix the width a single time. After that you strap the belt on, push the lever shut β and it sits. Exactly as tight as on the set before and on the set after. No hunting for a hole, no "today I will run it a notch looser".
That sounds like a detail until you are standing between two heavy squats. The belt is open in a second, you get your breath back, and before the next attempt it is shut again. No firm closure opens faster, which is why lifters with a settled set routine end up here sooner or later.
One thing no closure takes off your hands: the trunk work. You build the pressure yourself, week after week in training β the belt only gives it something to push against.
The flip side: changing the width means a screwdriver
The lever is bolted to the leather. If you want a different width, you undo the screws, move the plate and tighten it back down. That takes a few minutes and a screwdriver, nothing more β but you certainly will not be doing it between two sets.
For most people that is a non-issue: set once, and the belt stays that way. Two cases still speak against it. If your waist swings noticeably across the day or across the year, you will be reaching for the screwdriver constantly. And if two people share one belt, a prong buckle is clearly quicker β then the Leder Powerlifting Belt is the better pick.
10 mm leather, straight cut
10 mm β it does not get thicker with us. Black smooth leather on the outside, red suede lining on the inside, plus red double stitching and the embroidered cross equip logo. Straight out of the box it is stubborn and hardly wants to bend. That passes over the weeks β the leather does not get softer along the way, and that is exactly why you buy it.
Then there is the straight cut: 10.6 cm, identical at the front and at the back. The pressure you build when bracing goes forward β and there it meets more leather than on any other support belt on our shelf.
Width and federation limits β the honest part
That width comes with a catch, and we say so before you buy. The IPF allows a maximum of 10 cm in powerlifting. At 10.6 cm the Lever Belt sits above that and falls outside the limits. Under the IWF limit of 12 cm it stays.
A second point applies to our entire belt shelf: the IPF only allows equipment from brands on its own approved list β and cross equip appears there with no model at all. Another belt from us therefore solves the dimension question at most, never your eligibility to start.
In plain terms: purely on the dimensions, the Leder Powerlifting Belt stays inside the IPF frame at 10 cm wide and 9.5 mm thick. Whether you may compete in it is answered by your federation's rulebook, not by this product page. And if you want the firmest fit and the fastest closure in training, you are in the right place here anyway.
Which size fits you?
Measure your belly where the belt will later sit: at navel height, stomach drawn in. Forget the number on your trousers, that comes from a different height. Take your figure into the table:
| Size | Waist circumference (navel height, stomach drawn in) |
|---|---|
| S | 60β76 cm |
| M | 68β84 cm |
| L | 75β91 cm |
| XL | 82β98 cm |
Between two sizes, take the smaller one.
With a lever, the size choice weighs more than with a row of holes β you do not correct it in passing. The four ranges do overlap heavily, and the movable lever absorbs a fair bit of that. If you land close to a range boundary, drop us a line. Sorting a size out by email is quicker than sending one back.

Customer reviews
The lever needs explaining right up until someone has had one in their hands β after that, never again. Plenty of people in our box have asked me after a set why their own belt does not open like that. And yes, the screwdriver job when setting it is a nuisance. But you do it once, and after that you spend two years not thinking about how your belt sits.
