Description

What 2, 4 and 6 kg are for

Not every exercise needs 16 kg. You learn a Turkish get-up with little load until every step is dialled in. In a bottoms-up hold – handle down, bell up – even 4 kg will challenge your shoulder and your grip. And for halos, armbars and warming up, you don't need a heavy kettlebell, you need one you can control cleanly.

Our full-size competition kettlebells start at 8 kg. The Mini Competition Kettlebell fills the gap below – for classes where beginners and teenagers train alongside, for the home gym, and for personal trainers and physiotherapists who have their people train with light weights. You know the shape from the big ones: competition shape. When you later move up to the Hollow Competition Kettlebell, the shape already feels familiar.

Colour, logo, bare handle

Every weight has its own colour: 2 kg red, 4 kg yellow, 6 kg light blue. In a class, "grab the yellow one" is all it takes – everyone knows that means the 4 kg kettlebell. The weight is cast into the back, the cross equip logo into the front. The colours follow their own logic: yellow means 4 kg here – on the full-size competition kettlebells, yellow stands for 16 kg.

Only the bell is painted. The handle stays bare and is shot blasted – you hold metal, not a layer of paint. Every kettlebell ships individually in a box with a foam insert.

Which kettlebell fits you?

Competition, cast iron or adjustable — the build decides whether your grip stays the same when you change weight. Here you find the right bell and the weight to start with.

Frequently Asked Questions

Which weight is right – 2, 4 or 6 kg?
It depends more on the exercise than on you. 2 kg suits warm-ups, halos and anyone learning a movement for the first time. With 4 kg you practise the Turkish get-up and bottoms-up holds once the movement is in place. 6 kg is the last step before 8 kg – from there, the Hollow Competition Kettlebell takes over. When in doubt, start lighter.
Should I buy one or two kettlebells?
For get-ups, halos and bottoms-up holds, one is enough – you train one side after the other anyway. Two of the same weight make sense when you want to train both sides at once, for example in a farmer's walk or pressing with both arms. For classes, plan one kettlebell per person in the weight most of them need, plus a few lighter and heavier ones.
Can I do swings with 2 to 6 kg?
Sure – it works well for learning the movement and for warming up. For swings with a real training effect, most adults will soon find it too light. That's when you reach for the ECO Hollow Competition Kettlebell or the Hollow Competition Kettlebell from 8 kg.
What's the difference from your full-size competition kettlebells?
Both have competition shape. The mini range covers 2, 4 and 6 kg, while the Hollow, the ECO Hollow and the Competition Kettlebell start at 8 kg. The colours follow their own logic too: red, yellow and light blue stand for 2, 4 and 6 kg here.
Is the Mini Competition Kettlebell suitable for teenagers?
Yes – 2 and 4 kg in particular work well for learning a movement with little load, ideally with a coach alongside. For small children who just want to join in while you train, take a look at the Fit Kidz Kettlebell.
Mini Competition or cast iron kettlebell at 4 or 6 kg?
Both come in 4 and 6 kg, 2 kg only as a Mini. The cast iron kettlebell has the classic shape and is powder coated. The Mini has competition shape, its own colour per weight and a bare, shot-blasted handle. When you later move up to competition kettlebells from 8 kg, you stay with the same shape.

Customer reviews

Until now, our lightest competition kettlebell was 8 kg. For someone learning their first Turkish get-up, that's a lot. With 2, 4 and 6 kg, the movement now comes first and the load second. And if you think 2 kg is nothing: hold it bottoms-up overhead for a minute.
