Description

Four heights for mixed classes

In a mixed class, hardly anyone jumps the same height. That is exactly what this set is built for: four plyo boxes in black steel at 12" (30.48 cm), 18" (45.72 cm), 24" (60.96 cm) and 30" (76.2 cm). One athlete starts at 30 centimetres, another goes for the 76 – without you hunting down boxes from three corners of the gym. Every plyo box carries a ribbed rubber plate on the landing surface that gives you grip when you touch down. Box jumps, step-ups, box squats, dips – these heights cover the daily work in the gym.

The taper is why they nest

Every box is wider at the base than at the top. That taper is not a design detail, it is the reason the four boxes slide into one another: the smaller one disappears inside the bigger one until you end up with a tower roughly as tall as the largest box on its own. After class you push them together and get the floor back – often the deciding point in a home gym. The frame is bolted at the corners and sits on rubber feet – the four boxes arrive flat-packed and get bolted together before first use, screws included. Black steel instead of wood also means nothing splinters and nothing warps.

Do the boxes really nest inside one another?
Yes. The taper makes it work – every box is wider at the base than at the top, so the smaller one slides into the bigger one. Nested, the tower ends up roughly as tall as the largest box on its own.
How safe is landing on steel?
The landing surface carries a ribbed rubber plate. It gives you grip when you touch down, even when your shoes get damp during a WOD.
What is the difference to the soft plyo boxes?
Depends which one you mean – the two are not equally soft. On the Soft Plyo Box Set you land on dimensionally stable foam, so a firm surface; it gives way at the edge, when you catch it with your shin. The Soft 3in1 Plyobox is the softest one in the family and the first choice for beginner and rehab classes. Steel gives way nowhere – in return it nests and takes daily traffic.
Can I buy single heights separately?
Not at the moment – the four boxes come as a set only. If you need several sets or one single height, drop us a line and we will see what can be done.
Do I have to assemble the boxes myself?
Yes. All four boxes arrive flat-packed and get bolted together before first use – same as our wooden plyo boxes. The screws are included, tools are not: you will need your own screwdriver or drill. You can see the bolted corners on the product photos.
Who is this set for?
For gyms and boxes running mixed classes, because everyone jumps at their own level. And for home gyms short on floor space, because the four boxes sit inside one another and the tower stays roughly as tall as the largest box on its own.
