One knee wants the sleeve, the other does not

Know the feeling? During the warm-up one knee feels stiff while the other never says a word. You want that one knee warm and compressed – and you do not want to buy two sleeves with one of them left lying in the gym bag. This is exactly where the Rx plays its card: Rehband sells it individually. You put one sleeve in the basket, for the knee it is about.

If you want both knees covered, you order two – done. And you do not have to pick a side while you are at it: the Rx is anatomically pre-shaped and fits left as well as right.

7 mm neoprene – what that means in push-back

Thickness is the one decision you really have to make here. 7 mm is the thicker of the two Rx options: more counter-pressure out of the deep squat, more warmth in the joint, noticeable from the very first rep. The catch belongs in the picture too – on high rep counts and long mixed sessions you feel the material. If you jump, run and switch movements a lot, you move more freely in the Rx 5 mm.

The Rx is built from two neoprene panels with seams down the sides. That gives the sleeve its knee shape already in the cut, so it throws no folds when you bend.

On competition, because the question comes up every time: in powerlifting under IPF rules two things count. First the measurement – up to 7 mm is allowed, and the Rx sits exactly on that upper limit. Second the IPF manufacturer list, and Rehband is not on it. So do not plan an IPF start with this sleeve. In weightlifting under IWF rules there is no such list – a neoprene sleeve without buckles or reinforcements is a non-issue there. And in CrossFit there is no equipment permit process at all.

Measure up – even if you think you know your size

Rehband measures at a fixed spot: circumference 10 cm below the kneecap. Put the tape there, read off your value, then find your row:

We carry the Rx in black from XS through XL. If you like it tighter, Rehband says go one size down.

There is one trap in switching between the lines: our own Knee Sleeves Neopren 7mm are measured at the knee itself, at roughly 20 degrees of flexion – not ten centimetres below it. Two tables, two measuring points. The centimetre values do sit close together, but they cannot be converted into one another.
