Description
The rings are hanging – but never level
You know how it goes: the rings hang, but left and right are never at the same height. Adjust before every set, squint one eye, adjust again. And on the muscle-up you feel the difference anyway – one side pulls earlier, the other follows late.
That guessing game is exactly what the Competition Straps take off your hands. Numbers are woven into the black webbing – 32, 33, 34 and so on – with red double lines sitting between them as intermediate marks. You hook the left side in on a number, the right side on the same one, and that is that. No eyeballing, no estimating, no debate during coaching. And after a rebuild on the rig, all you have to remember for your old height is one number.
Adjusting with carabiner and hook
You change the height via a carabiner and hook system in 5 cm steps – hook it in, done, no fine-tuning afterwards. In a running class schedule that is the real gain: when the ring height has to come down between two heats, that is a few seconds instead of a two-person fumble. The carabiners are included, and you get a pair – so both sides, not a single strap.
These straps were first shown at the CrossFit Games in 2011. You have seen them in plenty of boxes since, because they solve a problem that everyone who hangs rings knows. That is not an approval stamp for your next competition – which equipment is allowed is always written in the rulebook of the competition in question.
Rings are not included
We would rather say this twice than once too little: what you get here is the straps with carabiners, no rings. This page is meant for everyone who already has rings and only wants to change something about the hanging – or for boxes that want a second pair of straps sitting in the store room as a spare.

At some point we swapped only the straps and left the old rings hanging – that was the smallest change with the biggest effect that year. Before, the same discussion started before every set: is the left one hanging lower or am I imagining it? Today the coach calls out a number, everyone hangs on the same one, and the class carries on. It is no great feat of engineering. It just takes away an annoyance you used to have every single day.
