Description

When somebody is always waiting during muscle-up work

Two people, one rig, one ring station. One does their sets, the other stands next to them and watches. With muscle-ups that quickly turns into half a session of waiting – and if you then hang the rings off the pull-up bar, that is blocked too.

The Gym Ring Fixed is there for exactly this: a hanging point for gymnastic rings that clamps straight onto the rig beam. Two of them next to each other and you have a second ring station – your rig does not need a single extra centimetre of space for it, and the pull-up bar stays where it is.

One Gym Ring Fixed is one hanging point. So for a pair of rings you need two pieces, spaced the way you want the rings to hang later. Rings and straps come separately – that way you use the ones you train with anyway.

One bracket, one bolt, done

The Gym Ring Fixed is a U-shaped bracket in black-coated steel. You set it over the beam, push the bolt through both cheeks and tighten it – that was the installation. At the bottom of the bracket sits a carabiner eyelet that you clip your straps into.

No rebuild on the rig, no extra material – a spanner is enough. And if your setup changes, the bracket sits somewhere else a few minutes later.

Before you hang off it the first time

Three points we would rather tell you before than after. Without floor anchoring, nothing happens – a muscle-up sends pull and swing into the rig, and only a bolted-down system takes that cleanly. Between two ring stations you plan for at least 3 metres, so two athletes in the kipping phase do not clip each other.

On top of that comes the space around it: the floor under the rings stays clear, the J-cups come off. That takes ten seconds and is the difference between a clean set and a shin against the rack.

Frequently Asked Questions

Do I need one or two Gym Ring Fixed?
Two. One bracket is one hanging point, and a pair of rings needs two of them. You mount them on the same beam, spaced the way you want the rings to hang. If you want two ring stations next to each other, that makes four pieces – plus 3 metres between the stations.
Are gymnastic rings or straps included?
No. The Gym Ring Fixed is the mount on the rig, nothing more. Rings and straps you order separately – then you decide yourself whether it becomes wooden rings with long straps or numbered competition straps.
What is the difference to the Ring Hanger?
The hanging point at the bottom of the bracket. On the Gym Ring Fixed that is a **carabiner eyelet** to clip into, on the Ring Hanger a **round bar** to thread through. The rest is identical on both: steel bracket, one bolt, clamped to the rig beam, A-Line and Swiss Line. Which of the two designs is the better one is deliberately not written here – we have no evidence for it and we are not inventing any. Write us which rings and straps you already have, then we will look at it with you.
Will this fit my rig?
On our A-Line and Swiss Line the bracket fits. With rigs from other manufacturers it depends on the beam dimensions – we cannot promise that across the board. Send us the profile dimensions of your rig and we will tell you honestly whether it fits.
Is it enough if my rig is heavy enough?
No. The Gym Ring Fixed requires a rig that is bolted into the floor – dead weight does not replace that. In the kipping phase you pull the rig forward and back again, and those forces belong in the anchoring. If your rig is still standing free, sort that first.
How much space do I need around the rings?
More below and to the sides than most people estimate – you swing further out of the vertical than it feels. J-cups come off the beam, bands, boxes and dumbbells out of the way. And between two ring stations you keep at least 3 metres, so you do not take each other out.

Customer reviews

Muscle-ups in the WOD, one ring station, twelve people – for years that was the reason half the class stood and watched at our place. At some point you hang the rings off the pull-up bar as well and block that too. Two brackets on the crossbeam settled the whole thing without us changing anything on the rig. One more thing before you order: a bracket is a hanging point, not a station. For a pair of rings you put two in the basket.
