Description

Kit out the platform – in one purchase

Eight plates, four weights, every one of them a pair: 2× 10 kg green, 2× 15 kg yellow, 2× 20 kg blue, 2× 25 kg red. 140 kg together. That is the whole point of this set – you build your platform from scratch instead of hunting down one missing step after another.

Pairs mean this: you load every combination symmetrically, left and right. And the colour code saves you the counting – you see what is on the barbell from three metres away. When several athletes work in parallel and the bar gets reloaded between sets, that saves you a few seconds every single time.

On the platform you notice the difference when you let go: the rebound is low, the barbell stays under control instead of jumping back at you.

Honestly: if you are only missing one step, you don't need a set – then you take the Competition Bumper Plates as singles and top up exactly where you need to. And if this is about the training floor rather than the platform, have a look at the Color Bumper Plate Set 150 kg.

Competition sizing across all four steps

Every plate in the set measures 450 mm on the outside and 50.6 mm on the inside – the 10s included. The distance from the floor to the barbell therefore stays the same, whether it is a single pair of 10s or the whole set. The plates are built from coloured rubber with a bolted, chrome-plated steel insert; the details on that live on the singles page.

Diameter, bore and colours follow the IWF specifications. The plates do not carry a test seal – where certified equipment is mandatory at a competition, the organiser supplies it.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is in the set?
Eight plates: two each of 10 kg (green), 15 kg (yellow), 20 kg (blue) and 25 kg (red). 140 kg together. Every competition weight comes as a pair, so you can load symmetrically from day one.
Is 140 kg enough for my training?
On a 20 kg barbell that puts you at 160 kg – enough for technique work, cleans, snatches and most squat sets. If you regularly go above that, add another 25 kg pair from the singles.
Set or singles?
Depends where you are starting. From scratch, the set saves you the hunt. If all you are missing is the 15 kg pair or one replacement plate, the singles serve you better – you only pay for what is actually missing.
Can I mix the set with the bumpers I already have?
Yes. All eight plates measure 450 mm on the outside and 50.6 mm on the inside – so they sit on every Olympic barbell and run next to any other 450 mm plate on the same sleeve. The colour code only holds for the competition plates, though: mix in other lines and you are back to reading the number instead of the colour.
How do I hit the weights in between?
With change plates. The set steps up from 10 to 25 kg in 5 kg increments per side – for the finer jumps in between you add High Grade Change Plates. In competition prep, when you work your way up attempt by attempt, you will need them.
Are the plates IWF certified?
No. Diameter, bore and colour code follow the IWF specifications, but the plates carry no test seal – only a handful of manufacturers worldwide do. At competitions without a certification requirement they run without any issue. Where certified equipment is required, the organiser supplies it.

Customer reviews

When someone sets up a platform with us, the set is almost always the first purchase. Not because of the engineering, but because nothing is missing afterwards – all four weights, all in pairs. You can always top up later, but you don't start out with half a set.
