Concept2 is the benchmark every ergometer is measured against. These machines have been standing in rowing clubs, boxes and training rooms for decades – and they are still there, because they simply do not break.

Why Concept2 is the reference point

For us that has a practical side effect: spare parts are available for years, and you can do the servicing yourself. A machine you can repair is cheaper in the long run than one you have to replace.

Four machines, one monitor

The RowErg is the rowing machine everything is measured against. The StrengthErg next to it works with shorter, heavier pulls for strength endurance.

The SkiErg pulls from above and trains lats, core and triceps – it needs little floor space but height. The BikeErg works like a road bike against air resistance.

All four run the same PM5 monitor. That means the same logic, the same watt figures and comparable results across every machine. Anyone who trains with structure knows what that is worth.

What to consider when placing them

These machines are quieter than their reputation, but they transmit movement into the floor. In an apartment building the floor below hears the structure-borne noise rather than the machine itself.

A decoupling rubber mat solves that in most cases. What your room actually needs depends on the build-up – screed, timber joists and concrete behave completely differently.

Why is Concept2 so widespread?

Because the machines have stayed the same for decades, which keeps the numbers comparable – between machines, between rooms and over time. On top of that, mechanics that do little and do it for a very long time.

What is the PM5 monitor?

The onboard computer on all current Concept2 machines. It shows watts, pace, distance and calories, stores workouts and connects to apps and heart rate belts. Identical on all four machines.

Can I buy spare parts?

Yes, and over very long periods. Chain or drive belt, seat rollers and monitor are all available individually, and replacing them does not need a service technician.

Which Concept2 machine should I buy first?

The RowErg. It puts the most muscle to work at once and is the most versatile of the four. SkiErg and BikeErg are additions, not alternatives.

Are these machines suitable for home use?

With proper care and maintenance, our furniture can last a lifetime and even be passed down through generations. To preserve the beauty and durability of your furniture, we recommend:

What is the difference between RowErg and StrengthErg?

The RowErg is the classic rowing machine for endurance and technique. The StrengthErg works with shorter, considerably heavier pulls – closer to strength training than to rowing.

Does the SkiErg fit on any wall?

No. The wall has to take the pulling forces and you need enough height. With lightweight construction or low cellar ceilings the FloorStand is the safe solution.

How do I maintain a Concept2 machine?

Whether you like to create cakes, muffins, cookies or other sweet treats, you will find the right baking ingredient for every need in our online store. In addition to conventional flours and baking agents, we also offer special flours for gluten-free baking and baking agents for vegans.
