Description

Thickness tells you how hard the band pulls

Loop band, mini band, small resistance band – it's always the same closed loop that you pull over your knees or around your ankles. With us you read the resistance off the material thickness: Yellow is the lightest at 0.3 mm, red the strongest at 1.0 mm. In between sit green at 0.5 mm and blue at 0.8 mm. Every band carries its label printed right on it – Light, Medium, Heavy, X-Heavy.

Why we put the millimeters up front instead of the color: our latex-free line has one step more, and that shifts everything by one. Green is Medium here and Light there – at exactly the same thickness. The millimeters hold across both lines, the label doesn't. Go by them when you reorder and you'll get it right.

For hips, glutes and shoulders – not for pull-ups

The small loop is your tool for work on the floor and for everything that happens before the actual training. Monster Walks, clamshells, glute bridges, hip abductions, banded squats with the band above your knees. Plus shoulder activation in the warm-up, clean recruitment before leg day, and light work in the physio practice.

What it isn't: a replacement for the long Resistance Band. That's the big band for the rack and the pull-up bar – assisted pull-ups, heavy banded squats, mobility with plenty of travel. The names sit close together, the two tools don't. If you want to assist your pull-ups, you need the long one.

Latex, 30 cm loop – and what you should know

The band is a closed latex loop with a 30 cm diameter, cut flat, with the cross equip printed label on it. Latex is elastic and takes a lot, but it ages. Direct sun, heat and sharp edges are its enemies – so don't leave it lying in a hot car. Wipe it down damp after training, store it dark, done.

One point we'll say straight out: with a latex allergy this band is out. For that there's the same idea as the Latex Free - Mini Bands SET – loops made from latex-free rubber, with the same logic over thickness.

Frequently Asked Questions

Which thickness should I take?
For activation and warm-up, yellow (0.3 mm) and green (0.5 mm) are enough in most cases. You take blue (0.8 mm) and red (1.0 mm) when you want to feel real pull during banded squats, hip thrusts or Monster Walks. If you're only getting one band and you're unsure: green covers the most ground.
Does green always mean the same thing with you?
No, and that's the most common trap. Here green is Medium at 0.5 mm. The Latex Free - Mini Bands SET adds one step more, and there the same thickness is called Light. And the fabric line has its own scheme with no mm figure at all – there red is the lightest step, with us the strongest. Across the lines, a color never automatically means the same thing. Go by millimeters.
Can I do assisted pull-ups with it?
No, at 30 cm diameter the loop is too short for that. For assisted pull-ups you need the long Resistance Band that you hook into the rack or onto the pull-up bar.
Does the band roll up during squats?
On calm movements it sits clean. On very dynamic moves the loop can roll up on your thigh – every narrow rubber loop does that, the latex-free ones just the same. If that bothers you, go for the Stoff Mini Bands Set: cut wider, sits flat on your leg.
How long does a band like this last?
Any number would be a guess – it depends on how often you use it and how far you stretch it. What you can go by: cracks, porous spots or a sticky surface mean the band needs replacing. Sun, heat and sharp edges speed that up, dry and dark storage slows it down.
One band or all four right away?
If you know which thickness you need, take the single band – nothing more required. If you work with several people or want to climb through the steps, the Mini Bands Set with all four thicknesses is the more sensible choice.

Customer reviews

We deliberately sell the bands individually, because the most common order isn't a set at all – it's a reorder, because one in the basket is done for or one step is always missing. And that's exactly where it goes wrong: people order by color. Remember the millimeters, not the color, and the right one shows up.
